Data processed on your device
The Timeline JSON, coordinates, exact trip dates, any place or city wording entered into a title, custom titles, nickname, selected soundtrack, and generated video are processed in the browser. They are not uploaded to Timeline to Video for storage, account sync, server rendering, or publication.
The generated MP4 remains a local Blob until you download it or choose the device share action. Closing or resetting the project releases application-held references where the browser permits. Standard browser download history and operating-system files remain under your device controls.
Map tiles are third-party network requests
After you confirm map loading, the browser requests raster tiles from the map provider identified in the interface and Attribution page. The provider can receive your IP address, user-agent and request metadata, and tile coordinates corresponding to the requested map region.
The original Timeline JSON is not attached to those requests, but a group of requested tiles may reveal geographic context. Network and browser caches may retain tile responses according to their own policies. Timeline to Video does not currently offer an offline map package, so it does not claim that rendering is completely offline.
Limited analytics, without route details
The site may record page views, referral source, device class, coarse region, browser capability, broad file-size bucket, broad point-count bucket, processing duration bucket, selected template or output option, error category, export completion, and share-button use.
Analytics must not contain Timeline JSON fragments, coordinates, exact dates, city or place names, filenames, custom text, photo or music metadata, generated video, precise route bounds, or a stable fingerprint built from the journey. A missing event is unknown, not evidence that an action occurred zero times.
Privacy zones and user choices
The current privacy control does not infer Home or Work and does not scan for arbitrary high-frequency clusters. When enabled, it removes recorded points inside the selected radius around the route's original first and last points. The same transformed route is used for preview and export, while the source JSON remains unchanged.
